...and the winds came down from the north, carrying icicles in their teeth and snowflakes on their mittens. Little Natanya awoke to a whole new world, one unlike anything she was able to remember in her 15 months of life on earth. "What is this white stuff doing on my rock? Why can't I see anything from underneath this wooly, earflap fiasco of a hat? What in the world has enveloped my fingers? Is this for real?!"

"Well, I can stand up in this little cloud of a jacket so I suppose everything is going to be all right..."

"...but wait, where's the milk? How will I ever get to my milk without exposed flesh being flashed in front of me 24/7? I best go off and learn to forage in the deep wilderness of this strange facsimile of my yard..."

And then the sun peeked out from behind the vast expanse of grey illuminating the day just enough to tame the winds and expose small portions of familiarity. Improved vision. exposed flesh, milk ahead.... "This isn't so bad. Lets play!!!"
this makes me happy.

Hi All you Santa Fe Snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteThat hot sticky summer afternoon at Tompkins square park seems soooo long ago. The first conscious snow experience is one of the best moments to witness. Luckily we got that one on video and I watch over and over...
Tomorrow is Christmas! - wishing you the merriest. xoxoxox CC&F
